Senior Practitioner – Adults Communities – Camden Borough Council

Camden Borough Council is seeking an experienced and confident Senior Practitioner to join their Adults Communities team. This is a pivotal role within the service, offering the opportunity to take the lead on complex cases, support risk management, and provide mentorship to less experienced practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of complex adult social care cases, including safeguarding and mental capacity assessments

  • Support practitioners in the team with case consultations, joint work, and decision-making

  • Liaise with health partners, community organisations, and legal services

  • Contribute to service development and delivery of best practice

  • Uphold principles of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and other relevant legislation

  • Participate in reflective supervision and case audits

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration

  • Minimum of 4 years’ post-qualified experience in adult social care

  • Previous experience in a Senior Practitioner or step-up role is desirable

  • Strong knowledge of strengths-based and person-centred approaches

  • Excellent risk assessment, communication, and mentoring skills

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to complete one)
