North London Local Authority is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Adults Localities Team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home while ensuring vital in-person collaboration at our office for 2 days a week. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct and oversee complex assessments using appropriate tools and techniques to establish clear, relevant, and cost-effective options for individuals.
• Develop, implement, and monitor personalised, outcome-focused care and support plans that promote long-term independence and choice.
• Perform and supervise risk assessments for adults and carers, ensuring compliance with eligibility criteria and Mental Capacity legislation.
• Lead on Mental Capacity Act assessments, ensuring adherence to statutory guidance and supporting adults in demonstrating capacity wherever possible.
• Manage a complex caseload, providing supervision and support to junior staff, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, Council policy, and professional best practice.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local services, specialist teams, ICB and Hospital Trusts, and the voluntary and community sector to deliver holistic and seamless services.
• Champion the contributions of adults, their advocates, relatives, carers, and support workers in the assessment, support, and review processes.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of local provisions and facilitate appropriate referrals to specialist teams and providers.
• Promote and support the use of direct payments, providing information, advice, and guidance to help individuals exercise choice based on assessed risk and expected outcomes.
• Work collaboratively with the Brokerage team to secure care and support services, including equipment and adaptations.

Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
• Extensive experience in adult social care, including conducting complex assessments and risk management.
• Strong understanding of statutory requirements, Council policies, and professional best practices.
• Proven ability to manage a complex caseload and provide supervision to junior staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• Commitment to promoting independence, choice, and well-being for adults.
• Flexibility to work 2 days a week in the office and the rest remotely.
