Social Worker – Adults Safeguarding – Lambeth Borough Council

Lambeth Borough Council is seeking a committed and skilled Social Worker to join their Adults Safeguarding team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, person-centred service that supports some of the borough’s most vulnerable adults, ensuring they are protected from harm while promoting independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on adult safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act

  • Undertake risk assessments and develop safeguarding protection plans

  • Work with adults with complex needs, including mental health and substance misuse

  • Liaise closely with health professionals, police, advocacy, and legal services

  • Prepare high-quality case records, assessments, and reports

  • Participate in strategy meetings and contribute to multi-agency working

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration

  • Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience in adult safeguarding

  • Sound knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding procedures

  • Confident in managing complex risk and decision-making

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
