Lambeth Borough Council is seeking a committed and skilled Social Worker to join their Adults Safeguarding team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, person-centred service that supports some of the borough’s most vulnerable adults, ensuring they are protected from harm while promoting independence and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

Lead on adult safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act

Undertake risk assessments and develop safeguarding protection plans
-
Work with adults with complex needs, including mental health and substance misuse
-
Liaise closely with health professionals, police, advocacy, and legal services
-
Prepare high-quality case records, assessments, and reports
-
Participate in strategy meetings and contribute to multi-agency working
Candidate Requirements
-
Social Work England registration
-
Minimum of 2 years’ post-qualified experience in adult safeguarding
-
Sound knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding procedures
-
Confident in managing complex risk and decision-making
-
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
