The Role

Kingston Council is seeking an experienced Adults Social Worker to join its Localities Service on a locum basis. This role involves working with adults with a range of needs, supporting them to live independently and safely within the community.

You will carry out strengths-based assessments, care and support planning, and safeguarding work under the Care Act, working closely with service users, carers, and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete Care Act assessments and reviews
  • Develop and implement care and support plans
  • Manage a varied caseload of adults with complex needs
  • Undertake safeguarding enquiries under Section 42
  • Work collaboratively with health and partner agencies
  • Maintain accurate, timely case recordings
  • Support service users to maximise independence and wellbeing

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience working within Adult Social Care, ideally within a Localities or Community Team
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding procedures
  • Experience completing assessments, reviews, and support planning
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
