Position: Senior Social Worker
Team: Community Mental Health Team – Older Adults
Contract: Locum – 3 months initially
Hours: 36.66 hours per week
Pay Rate: Up to £35 per hour
Location: Royal Oldham Hospital, OL1 2JH
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday, 9am–5pm (some flexible working available)

Sheldon Phillips is working in partnership with Oldham Council to find an experienced Senior Social Worker to join their Community Mental Health Team for Older People. This is a vital role within a busy, multi-disciplinary setting, offering the chance to support older adults with complex mental health needs and make a tangible difference in their day-to-day lives.
You will need to bring solid experience from within a CMHT setting and be confident completing complex assessments and care planning under the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act frameworks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Complete Care Act Assessments and Mental Capacity Assessments

Develop personalised support and risk management plans
-
Undertake Section 117 and Mental Health Act reviews
-
Liaise closely with medical professionals, families, and care providers
-
Respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately
-
Contribute to effective discharge planning and community support
Requirements:
-
SWE Registration
-
Social Work qualification
-
Significant post-qualified experience in a CMHT
-
Knowledge of the Care Act, MCA, and Mental Health Act
-
Car user – essential
-
Strong assessment, recording, and multi-agency working skills
