Brent Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join their Adults Services team. This role is ideal for a skilled social worker who is ready to step into a senior practice position, supporting colleagues while leading on complex safeguarding and community cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold responsibility for complex safeguarding cases and high-risk situations
  • Provide professional leadership, support, and mentoring to less experienced staff
  • Undertake Care Act assessments, safeguarding enquiries, and Mental Capacity Act assessments
  • Develop care and support plans that promote independence and wellbeing
  • Liaise with partner agencies to ensure effective, multi-disciplinary working
  • Contribute to service development and practice improvement initiatives
  • Act as a point of escalation for challenging cases, ensuring best practice is followed

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Significant post-qualified experience in Adults Social Care, ideally within safeguarding or community teams
  • In-depth knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and related legislation
  • Strong assessment, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
