Lewisham Council | Locum | £41.10 per hour | Hybrid Working
Lewisham Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join their Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) Team. This is a senior frontline role focused on managing complex safeguarding cases, driving best practice, and supporting the development of less experienced social workers.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, relationship-based social work, ensuring children are safeguarded and families are supported to achieve sustainable change.
In this role, you will:
- Manage a complex caseload of CIN and CP cases
- Undertake advanced assessments and risk analysis
- Lead on Child Protection processes, including strategy discussions and conferences
- Develop and review outcome-focused care plans
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and support to social workers and ASYEs
- Contribute to practice development and service improvement
- Work closely with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
- Maintain high-quality and accurate case recordings
What You’ll Need:
- Social Work England Registration
- Social Work Qualification
- Significant post-qualified experience in children’s social care
- Strong experience within CIN/CP and safeguarding services
- Confidence managing complex and high-risk cases
- Ability to support and develop others within the team
- Excellent assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills
