About the Role
Derbyshire County Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker to join its Children in Need Service. This role is ideal for a confident practitioner who can manage complex cases, support high-quality assessments, and contribute to consistent, child-focused practice across the service.
You will work with children and families requiring targeted intervention, supporting long-term change while ensuring risk is managed effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex Children in Need cases and support stepped-down safeguarding work.
- Complete high-quality assessments and plans within statutory timescales.
- Provide professional oversight and guidance to less experienced social workers.
- Undertake direct work with children and families to promote stability and resilience.
- Work closely with partner agencies to deliver coordinated support.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and recommendations.
- Promote reflective practice and contribute to service development.
