Social Worker – Family Assessment Team – London Borough of Croydon

Role Details:
- Salary: Up to £47,000 per annum
- Bonuses:
- £10,000 Welcome Bonus
- £2,500 Annual Retention Payment
- £8,000 Relocation Bonus (if required)

Key Responsibilities:
As part of the Family Assessment Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Undertake Comprehensive Assessments: Work with children and families to identify strengths, risks, and needs through detailed and child-focused assessments.
- Develop Outcome-Focused Plans: Create and implement plans that safeguard children, address family challenges, and promote their overall well-being.
- Work Collaboratively: Engage with partner agencies, including health, education, and voluntary organisations, to provide holistic support to children and families.
- Engage in Direct Work: Use creative, child-centered approaches to engage with children and families, ensuring their voices are central to decision-making.
- Support Court Work: Prepare high-quality reports for court proceedings and attend as required, ensuring robust and evidence-based recommendations.
- Contribute to Service Development: Share insights and feedback to support continuous improvement within the Family Assessment Team.
- Maintain Professional Standards: Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, local policies, and best practices while managing a manageable caseload.
Requirements:
- Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.
- Previous experience in family assessment or children’s social work.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, including the Children Act 1989.
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organisational skills.
