Qualified Social Worker , Team Manager – Adult Assessment – North London

Role:  Qualified Social Worker - Team Manager
Location:  North London
Team: Adult Assessment
Pay:  up to £43 per hour
Contract: Full-Time Locum

We are working with a forward-thinking local authority in North London, committed to providing high-quality services to our diverse community. Our Adults Assessment Team focuses on supporting individuals with physical disabilities and older people, ensuring they receive the best possible care and support.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our dynamic team as a Team Manager. In this role, you will oversee the Adults Assessment Team, ensuring the delivery of exceptional services in line with current legislation and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Legislation and Guidance:
    • Stay informed about new legislation, guidance, and initiatives related to Safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Deprivation of Liberty, and Continuing Care. Disseminate this information within the team, ensuring compliance and best practices.
  2. Leadership in Meetings:
    • Chair reviews, planning meetings, case conferences, and strategy meetings specific to the service user group and local structures.
  3. Management Cover:
    • Participate in management cover arrangements to meet service needs and deputise for the Head of Service when required.
  4. Service User Inclusion:
    • Ensure the participation and inclusion of service users, their families, and carers in all levels of decision-making, promoting consultation and involvement in various forums.
  5. Integrated Services Development:
    • Develop joint and integrated services, pathways, policies, and initiatives with partnership agencies, community services, and other stakeholders to enhance the multi-agency and integrated nature of service provision.
  6. Effective Care Management:
    • Oversee assessments of need, care management, care coordination, and reviews, collaborating with other agencies as appropriate. Monitor and enhance day-to-day practices of team members, working with the performance team to improve both qualitative and quantitative performance.
  7. Meeting Leadership:
    • Chair and attend team meetings and other relevant meetings as determined by the Head of Service, including Safeguarding Case Conferences.
  8. Case Monitoring and Auditing:
    • Monitor and audit case files and computerised records, addressing workload management issues as they arise.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be qualified and registered with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable experience in social work, specifically within the realm of adult services.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to service user inclusion and multi-agency collaboration.
