About the Role:
Westminster’s Child in Need and Child Protection Team is looking for a dedicated Social Worker to join their team on a locum basis. You’ll be at the heart of safeguarding children and supporting families to achieve positive outcomes. With a hybrid working model, you'll enjoy the flexibility to balance office-based tasks with remote working, giving you the best of both worlds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a diverse and complex caseload, focusing on children subject to Child in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans.
  • Undertake Section 47 enquiries and ensure timely and thorough investigations into safeguarding concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and partner agencies to deliver child-centred interventions.
  • Prepare and present detailed assessments and reports for Child Protection Conferences, court proceedings, and reviews.
  • Develop and implement robust plans to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and development of children in Westminster.
  • Use Westminster’s Signs of Safety model to deliver effective, strengths-based social work practice.
  • Ensure all work adheres to Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and other relevant legislation and guidance.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Social Work England registration (essential).
  • 3+ years’ post-qualified experience, with a proven track record in CIN and Child Protection.
  • Strong skills in assessment, planning, and decision-making in high-pressure environments.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and multi-agency professionals.
