Job Title: Children in Care (CIC) Social Worker

Rate: £40 per hour

Buckinghamshire’s Children in Care service is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children who can’t live at home. We’re looking for a committed and skilled Social Worker to provide consistent, high-quality support and planning for children and young people in care.
The Role
As a CIC Social Worker, you will:

Hold a varied caseload of children and young people in long-term care.

Build positive, trusting relationships with children to understand their needs and aspirations.

Develop and review care plans to ensure stability and permanence.

Work closely with foster carers, residential providers, health, and education professionals.

Prepare reports for court and attend statutory reviews, ensuring the child’s voice is central.

Promote independence and life skills as children move towards adulthood.
About You
You will be:

A qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

Experienced in working with looked-after children, ideally within a CIC or LAC team.

Skilled at balancing emotional sensitivity with professional boundaries.

Confident in multi-agency working and advocacy for young people.

Organised, resilient, and able to work to statutory timescales.
