Islington Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Social Worker to join its Children in Need Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in supporting children and families, ensuring that interventions are timely, effective, and firmly rooted in child-centred practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Children in Need and Child Protection cases, ensuring all statutory duties are met
- Undertake high-quality assessments and create outcome-focused care and safety plans
- Work directly with children and families to build trust and support sustainable positive change
- Prepare clear, analytical reports for case conferences, reviews, and court proceedings
- Support and mentor less experienced team members, promoting best practice across the service
- Collaborate with partner agencies to deliver coordinated, multi-agency safeguarding interventions
Candidate Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Substantial experience in Children in Need or Child Protection social work
- Strong assessment, report-writing, and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage complex caseloads and work effectively under pressure
- A reflective practitioner committed to learning and improving outcomes for children
