Social Worker – Children’s Safeguarding Team
Rate: £37.00-£38.50p/h
Duration: 3 months rolling contract
Working Arrangements: Hybrid

Bexley Council is looking for a dedicated and experienced Children’s Safeguarding Social Worker to join their team on a locum basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in safeguarding children and families within the borough, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out assessments and provide casework for children and families in need of support and protection.
• Develop and progress Child Protection (CP) plans and Children in Need (CIN) plans.
• Work directly with children and families, offering support and interventions to help improve outcomes.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and work collaboratively with other professionals to safeguard children.
• Ensure high-quality, timely reports are submitted for child protection conferences, reviews, and legal proceedings.

What We're Looking For:

• Social Work England (SWE) registration.
• Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience, with a focus on safeguarding children and working within a statutory setting (CIN, CP, or Looked After Children teams).
• Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989, 2004, and relevant safeguarding legislation.
• Experience in managing complex caseloads and working with children and families at risk.
• Ability to work within a multi-agency framework, advocating for the best interests of children.
