Are you a seasoned social worker with extensive experience as a Child Protection (CP) Chair? We have an outstanding opportunity for a qualified social worker to join a highly regarded local authority in the West Midlands as a CP Chair and Conference Reviewer.

Role Details:

  • Position: CP Chair and Conference Reviewer
  • Type: Locum
  • Rate: £38 per hour (Umbrella rate)
  • Location: West Midlands

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair child protection conferences and ensure that all statutory requirements are met.
  • Conduct thorough and impartial reviews of child protection plans.
  • Facilitate multi-agency discussions to develop robust safeguarding strategies.
  • Provide authoritative guidance and support to social workers and other professionals involved in child protection cases.
  • Ensure that the voice of the child is central to all decision-making processes.
  • Maintain high standards of record-keeping and reporting in line with legal and policy requirements.


  • SWE (Social Work England) registration.
  • Proven experience as a CP Chair, with a deep understanding of child protection procedures and best practices.
  • Exceptional ability to manage and lead complex multi-agency meetings.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy.
