Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Adult Social Work Front Door Team at a Local Authority in the West Midlands. This agency role is crucial in responding to incoming safeguarding referrals, ensuring that vulnerable adults receive the timely and appropriate support they need. The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £32 and involves a mix of office-based and home-based work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safeguarding Referrals: Respond to incoming safeguarding referrals via phone and the referral portal, ensuring a thorough and timely response.
  • Referral Management: Triage and manage referrals, determining the most appropriate course of action for each case.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other team members and external agencies to coordinate responses to safeguarding concerns.
  • Documentation: Accurately record and document all actions taken, maintaining up-to-date and detailed records in line with statutory requirements.
  • Assessment: Conduct initial assessments where necessary to determine the level of risk and required intervention.
  • Non-Customer Facing: This role does not involve direct customer-facing duties, focusing instead on behind-the-scenes coordination and response.

Requirements:

  • Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.
  • Significant experience in adult social work, particularly in safeguarding and front door roles.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple referrals efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong communication and assessment skills.
  • Experience with referral portals and triaging processes.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
