Family Court Advisor

Family Court Advisor - CAFCASS 

Location: Liverpool
Pay/Salary: up to £37 per hour
Office Working: 2 days per month
Contract: Locum

We are currently working with CAFCASS to find an experienced Family Court Advisor for their Work to First Hearing Team, as well as their Work After First Hearing Team. With a stable management team and a mostly permanent workforce, CAFCASS, Liverpool are looking for someone with solid experience to be able to pick up a caseload and support their service.

Duties

  • Assessing risk, analysing complex cases, advising courts on child protection and welfare concerns, and working directly with children and families to achieve positive outcomes
  • Public Law - Cases where the Local Authority has intervened due to safeguarding concerns or risk of significant harm to a child
  • Private Law - Cases involving disputes between parents or carers regarding child arrangements, such as contact or residence. 
  • Work to First Hearing Team - Focuses on the initial stage of private law proceedings before the first hearing - Complete safeguarding checks, assess risk factors, identify welfare concerns and provide early recommendations to help the court make safe decisions for children
  • Work After First Hearing Team - Involves work completed after the first hearing, including detailed assessments, direct work with children and families, report writing, and ongoing recommendations to support the court in achieving the best outcomes for the child.

What you need

  • Social Work Qualification
  • Social Work England registration
  • Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
