Solihull Children Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join our team. This is a crucial role in safeguarding children by managing and overseeing allegations against professionals and volunteers who work with children.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the process of investigating allegations made against professionals and volunteers working with children.

  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to employers, organizations, and other stakeholders in managing allegations.

  • Ensure all cases are managed in line with statutory guidance, local policies, and procedures.

  • Liaise with various agencies and professionals to ensure effective multi-agency working.

  • Maintain accurate records and produce reports as required.
     

Requirements:

  • Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.

  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practices.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
