About the Role

Sheldon Phillips is partnering with Herefordshire Council to recruit an experienced Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO) to join their Safeguarding and Quality Assurance team. This is a key role in managing allegations against individuals working with children and ensuring robust safeguarding procedures are followed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Managing and coordinating allegations against individuals working with children

  • Chairing complex meetings and ensuring all statutory guidance is adhered to

  • Liaising with police, social care, and other partner agencies to ensure effective safeguarding responses

  • Providing advice, guidance, and challenge to agencies in line with statutory responsibilities

  • Ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and performance monitoring in relation to allegations management


Requirements:

  • SWE Registration (Social Work England)

  • Previous experience as a LADO or Child Protection Chair (essential)

  • Strong understanding of statutory safeguarding guidance and procedures

  • Excellent multi-agency working and communication skills

  • Ability to manage complex cases and provide clear professional advice
