Contract: Locum – 37 hours per week (Fully Remote)
Pay Rate: Up to £38 per hour

Sheldon Phillips are working with Herefordshire County Council to recruit an experienced LADO (Local Authority Designated Officer). This role is fully remote, offering flexibility while still delivering a vital safeguarding service. We are seeking someone with at least 12 months’ direct LADO experience who can take ownership of managing allegations, safeguarding processes, and multi-agency coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Act as the designated officer for managing allegations against individuals working with children.

  • Lead and coordinate safeguarding responses in line with statutory guidance.

  • Provide expert advice, oversight, and decision-making on complex cases.

  • Liaise with multi-agency professionals to ensure effective safeguarding outcomes.

  • Maintain high standards of recording, reporting, and case management.

  • Support the continuous development of safeguarding practice within the service.

Requirements:

  • SWE Registration.

  • Recognised Social Work qualification.

  • Minimum 12 months’ direct experience as a LADO.

  • Strong knowledge of statutory guidance and safeguarding frameworks.

  • Excellent decision-making, communication, and partnership skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously in a fully remote role.
