LADO / ICPC Chair | Herefordshire Council | £38 per hour

Herefordshire Council are looking for an experienced LADO and/or Independent Child Protection Conference (ICPC) Chair to join their service on a fully remote basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone confident operating at pace, with strong multi-agency challenge, quality assurance mindset, and a proven ability to keep children’s safety and outcomes at the centre of decision-making.

The role

Depending on service need and your experience, you’ll be responsible for:

• Chairing Initial / Review Child Protection Conferences and ensuring robust, outcome-focused plans
• Providing confident multi-agency scrutiny and challenge
• Driving clear, decisive actions and ensuring drift is addressed
• Producing high-quality conference records and ensuring timescales are met
• Where applicable, undertaking LADO functions, including managing allegations against professionals and liaising across partner agencies

What they’re looking for

• Substantial experience as an ICPC Chair and/or LADO
• Strong knowledge of Working Together, CP processes, and multi-agency safeguarding practice
• Confident communicator who can challenge appropriately and professionally
• Social Work England registration and relevant safeguarding background
• Able to work independently in a remote setting with high professional judgement

Offer

• £38 per hour
• Fully remote contract, apart from training in the office once per month
