LADO / ICPC Chair | Herefordshire Council | £38 per hour
Herefordshire Council are looking for an experienced LADO and/or Independent Child Protection Conference (ICPC) Chair to join their service on a fully remote basis.
This is a great opportunity for someone confident operating at pace, with strong multi-agency challenge, quality assurance mindset, and a proven ability to keep children’s safety and outcomes at the centre of decision-making.
The role
Depending on service need and your experience, you’ll be responsible for:
- Chairing Initial / Review Child Protection Conferences and ensuring robust, outcome-focused plans
- Providing confident multi-agency scrutiny and challenge
- Driving clear, decisive actions and ensuring drift is addressed
- Producing high-quality conference records and ensuring timescales are met
- Where applicable, undertaking LADO functions, including managing allegations against professionals and liaising across partner agencies
What they’re looking for
- Substantial experience as an ICPC Chair and/or LADO
- Strong knowledge of Working Together, CP processes, and multi-agency safeguarding practice
- Confident communicator who can challenge appropriately and professionally
- Social Work England registration and relevant safeguarding background
- Able to work independently in a remote setting with high professional judgement

- Fully remote contract, apart from training in the office once per month
