Lead Child Protection Practitioner - Herefordshire Council

Location: Hereford
Pay/Salary: £51,142 - £55,269 + Welcome Payment of £10,000
Office Working: 2-3 Days per week
Contract: Permanent

We are currently working with Herefordshire Council to find an experienced Social Worker for their new Lead Child Protection Practitioner post in Children’s Services. With a stable management team and a mostly permanent workforce, Herefordshire are looking for someone with solid experience to be able to pick up a caseload and support their service. 


Duties

  • Provide leadership and oversight of complex child protection cases
  • Support decision making and quality assurance of S47 enquiries
  • Working closely with multi-agency partners, including health, police, education. 
  • Offer support and mentoring to less experienced social workers
  • Contribute to strategy discussions and meetings, as well as the continuous improvement of the service
