Sutton Borough Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join its Localities Team. Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake robust assessments of children and families referred to the Localities Team
  • Manage a caseload of Child in Need and Child Protection cases in line with statutory requirements
  • Develop and implement care and safety plans that promote wellbeing and family stability
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children and families to achieve positive outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to safeguard children
  • Prepare clear, analytical reports for meetings, reviews, and court proceedings

Candidate Requirements

  • Social Work England registration
  • Experience in locality or safeguarding social work
  • Excellent communication, assessment, and report-writing skills
  • Strong partnership working ethos and commitment to child-centred practice
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high practice standards
