Locum Children’s Locality Social Worker
Location: Gloucestershire County Council
Pay Rate: £43 per hour
Contract: Locum / Temporary
Team: Locality Team (CIN, CP & CIC)
Accommodation Allowance: £150 per week

Gloucestershire County Council is seeking an experienced and dedicated Locum Social Worker to join one of our Children’s Locality Teams.

This is a frontline role managing a caseload of approximately 18 children, including Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Children in Care (CIC) cases. Some court work is also involved. You’ll be joining a supportive and well-structured service committed to achieving positive outcomes for children and families.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload across CIN, CP, and CIC

• Undertake direct work with children and families

• Complete assessments, reviews, and statutory visits in line with legislative requirements

• Prepare reports for child protection conferences, looked-after reviews, and court proceedings

• Work collaboratively with multi-agency professionals to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children

Requirements:

• Social Work England registration

• Minimum 2 years’ post-qualifying experience in children's services

• Experience working across CIN, CP, CIC, and court proceedings

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and procedures
