A Local Authority in South London is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team in children's services. This is an excellent opportunity to play a critical role in safeguarding children and young people.

About the Role:

As a Qualified Social Worker in the MASH Team, you will be responsible for the initial screening and risk assessment of referrals to identify children at risk. You will work collaboratively with other agencies, including health, police, and education services, to ensure that appropriate interventions are provided swiftly. Your work will be vital in ensuring that vulnerable children and their families receive the necessary support and protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial assessments of referrals to identify children at risk of harm.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to gather and share information, ensuring accurate risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding procedures, statutory requirements, and best practice guidelines.
  • Provide timely and effective decision-making on the next steps for children's services involvement.
  • Manage a caseload of referrals and ensure appropriate and coordinated responses.

Requirements:

  • Qualified social worker with substantial experience in children's services, particularly in safeguarding or assessment teams.
  • Social Work England registered.
  • Strong understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding procedures, and multi-agency working.
  • Excellent communication, risk assessment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of practice.
