Non-Case Holding Advanced Social Work Practitioner – Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council

Location: Cable Plaza, Dudley
Pay/Salary: up to £41 per hour
Office Working: 2-3 Days per week
Contract: Locum

We are currently working with Dudley Metropolitan Borough to find an Advanced Social Work Practitioner for their Family Help service.This is an exciting opportunity for experienced and highly motivated Social Workers who are passionate about practice excellence and workforce development. The Advanced Social Work Practitioner is a non-case holding role, designed to provide practice leadership, mentoring and support to practitioners across the service.

Duties

  • Support the Team Manager in overseeing case progression and reducing drift and delay.

  • Support practitioners to develop clear plans, robust assessments and effective interventions.

  • Provide mentoring, coaching and day-to-day support to less experienced social workers, including Newly Qualified Social Workers.

  • Provide guidance and professional consultation on complex cases, safeguarding concerns and decision-making.

  • Promote high-quality social work practice through reflective discussions and practice development.

  • Assist in ensuring statutory visits, assessments, plans and reviews are completed within required timescales.

  • Support the Team Manager in monitoring and improving team performance.

  • Undertake quality assurance activities, including auditing and reviewing casework.

  • Support with case closures, ensuring appropriate step-down to Targeted Early Help or Universal Services where outcomes have been achieved.

  • Assist in identifying and addressing barriers to case progression and permanence planning.

What you need

  • Social Work Qualification

  • Social Work England registration

  • Enhanced DBS (provided by us)
