With a strong emphasis on relationship-based, trauma-informed work, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a long-term impact in the lives of young people navigating complex transitions.

The role is permanent, full-time, and based on a hybrid model, with just three days per week in the office. The council also provides a borough-wide parking permit to support flexible travel.

Practice Model:

Croydon’s 16+ Service is underpinned by relationship-based and restorative practice, focusing on building meaningful engagement and empowering young people. The team works closely with partner agencies and internal services to provide a joined-up approach, recognising the challenges that care leavers face and aiming to minimise disruption through consistent, trauma-informed support.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
  • Experience working with adolescents or care leavers in statutory settings
  • Strong knowledge of Pathway Planning, Care Leavers’ legislation & safeguarding practices
  • Ability to work creatively with young people and build resilience

  • £5,000 welcome bonus and £2,500 retention payment

  • Parking permit across the borough
  • Supportive, stable team and high-quality supervision
