Your Role in the Looked After Children’s Team:

As a Social Worker in the LAC team, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people who are in care, ensuring their needs are met and their voices are heard. Your duties will include:

• Building strong, trusting relationships with children and young people to understand their wishes and feelings.
• Creating and reviewing high-quality care plans that promote stability and positive outcomes for children.
• Conducting statutory visits and ensuring children are placed in safe, nurturing environments.
• Working closely with foster carers, residential staff, and other professionals to support the child’s development and well-being.
• Preparing comprehensive reports for reviews and court proceedings, demonstrating clear analysis and focus on the child’s best interests.
• Supporting young people as they transition to independence, ensuring they have the skills and resources needed for adulthood.

What We’re Looking For:

• Social Work England Registration (essential).
• Proven experience working within a Looked After Children’s Team or similar children’s social care team.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Children Act 1989/2004, Care Planning Regulations, and Pathway Planning.
• A commitment to child-centered practice and excellent communication skills.
