Permanent Social Worker - Waltham Forest

Child Protection Social Worker – Waltham Forest
Salary: £39,000 – £44,500
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Waltham Forest isn’t just another local authority. It’s a borough that’s genuinely invested in achieving the best outcomes for children and families – and equally committed to supporting the people who make that happen.

We’re working closely with a close-knit, well-supported Child Protection & Family Safeguarding team that has consistently maintained low caseloads and high standards. This is a permanent position with real progression opportunities – not just a sideways move.

If you’re looking for stability, professional growth, and leadership that actually listens, this is well worth your attention.

What’s on offer:

  • Salary between £39,000 and £44,500
  • Hybrid working – only 3 days a week in the office
  • Stable and supportive team environment
  • Low caseloads that prioritise quality over quantity
  • Strong, hands-on management with a focus on development

Requirements:

  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need:
  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/DipSW/CQSW)
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Previous experience in a statutory Child Protection or Family Safeguarding team
  • A sound understanding of relevant legislation and safeguarding procedures
  • Confidence in managing complex cases and working within a multi-agency setting

Whether you’re in a Child Protection role already and looking for a better work-life balance, or you're ready for that next career step in a team where your voice is heard – this could be the right opportunity.
