About the Role:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly skilled Practice Development Lead to join our Social Work Academy Team in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This role is designed for an experienced social worker with a passion for developing practice and fostering growth in social work professionals. As a Practice Development Lead, you will play a central role in supporting the professional development of social workers at all stages of their careers, ensuring high-quality services for children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver innovative training, coaching, and mentoring programs to support continuous professional development for social workers across the borough.

Work collaboratively with teams to develop and implement best practices in line with statutory guidance and Tower Hamlets' strategic goals.

Oversee the Social Work Academy’s programs for newly qualified social workers, providing supervision and ensuring a high standard of practice.

Lead on practice reviews, audits, and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.

Support the implementation of new policies and frameworks, ensuring a high level of engagement and understanding among practitioners.

Act as a resource for complex case consultation, offering expert guidance and support to frontline social workers.
Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

Substantial post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, with a strong background in practice improvement and development.

Proven experience in training, coaching, or mentoring social workers.

Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social care.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and support social workers at various levels.
