About the Role:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly skilled Practice Development Lead to join our Social Work Academy Team in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This role is designed for an experienced social worker with a passion for developing practice and fostering growth in social work professionals. As a Practice Development Lead, you will play a central role in supporting the professional development of social workers at all stages of their careers, ensuring high-quality services for children, young people, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver innovative training, coaching, and mentoring programs to support continuous professional development for social workers across the borough.

  • Work collaboratively with teams to develop and implement best practices in line with statutory guidance and Tower Hamlets' strategic goals.

  • Oversee the Social Work Academy’s programs for newly qualified social workers, providing supervision and ensuring a high standard of practice.

  • Lead on practice reviews, audits, and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.

  • Support the implementation of new policies and frameworks, ensuring a high level of engagement and understanding among practitioners.

  • Act as a resource for complex case consultation, offering expert guidance and support to frontline social workers.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • Substantial post-qualifying experience in children’s social care, with a strong background in practice improvement and development.

  • Proven experience in training, coaching, or mentoring social workers.

  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in social care.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to inspire and support social workers at various levels.
