Social Worker (Neurodivergent Children & Families) – Norwood Charity
Rate: Up to £32 per hour (Negotiation Depending on Expereince)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5:30pm (31 hours per week)
Contract: Part-time, Hybrid, 3-Month Rolling Contract
Location: North London - Childrens Home
Norwood is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our growing Advocacy and Advice Service. As one of the UK’s leading charities supporting neurodivergent children, young people, and their families, we are committed to creating positive change and delivering exceptional care.
This role will play a crucial part in supporting children and families by providing specialist social care assessments, interventions, and ongoing support. Key Responsibilities
- Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the emotional, physical, and social needs of neurodivergent children, young people, and their families.
- Conduct comprehensive strengths-based assessments, understanding the impact of neurodiversity and collaborating on care plans.
- Ensure safeguarding compliance and act in accordance with Norwood’s policies to promote the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- Provide advice and guidance on relevant legal frameworks impacting children, young people, and their families.
- Liaise with local authorities, NHS, and other public and independent sector agencies to improve outcomes.
- Maintain accurate case records, write reports, and attend relevant meetings and conferences.
- Support families with financial assistance applications when necessary.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Previous experience as a Social Worker in children’s services (statutory or voluntary sector).
- Understanding of the needs of neurodivergent children and their families.
- Strong knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation and regulations.
- Full, clean UK driving license and access to a vehicle for business purposes.
Desirable
- Practice Teacher Award or other relevant qualifications.
- Experience working with the Jewish community, including Charedi/Orthodox communities.
- Background in the voluntary sector or local authority settings.
