Qualified Social Worker – Assessment and Safeguarding – West London

Role:  Qualified Social Worker  
Location:  West London
Team: Assessment and Safeguarding
Pay:  up to £36 per hour
Contract: Full-Time Locum
In the office: Hybrid

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Adults Senior Social Worker / Senior Practitioner to join the Assessment and Safeguarding Team in a dynamic and forward-thinking local authority in West London. This role offers a rewarding chance to shape the future of adult social care while making a tangible difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on complex assessments of need and risk for adults, ensuring compliance with statutory duties under the Care Act and related legislation.
  • Take responsibility for complex safeguarding cases, including conducting safeguarding enquiries and ensuring timely and appropriate interventions.
  • Provide professional supervision and mentoring to less experienced social workers, supporting them in their casework and development.
  • Collaborate with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams to co-produce care plans that are person-centred and promote independence.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in line with statutory frameworks, best practice, and local policies.
  • Contribute to service development and delivery, identifying areas for improvement and supporting the implementation of innovative practice.

Essential Requirements:

  • Social Work England registration (must be current).
  • Proven experience in adult social care, with expertise in assessment, safeguarding, and complex case management.
  • Strong knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related adult social care legislation.
  • Experience in providing professional supervision and support to colleagues.
  • Excellent communication, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
