Qualified Social Worker – Learning Disability Service – Central London

Role:  Qualified Social Worker

Pay:  up to £32 per hour
Contract: Full-Time Locum
In the office: Hybrid

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Adults Social Worker to join our Learning Disability Service within a vibrant Local Authority in Central London. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting adults with learning disabilities by delivering high-quality social care services. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary environment where integrated working is essential for achieving the best outcomes for the individuals we support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Statutory Duties: Discharge statutory responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, including undertaking comprehensive Care Act assessments, developing support plans, and conducting regular reviews.

  • Safeguarding: Undertake Safeguarding Adults enquiries, develop and monitor protection plans to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable adults.

  • Mental Capacity Assessments: Assess adults under the Mental Capacity Act and make informed Best Interests decisions in line with statutory guidance.

  • Duty Rota: Participate in the duty rota, covering 5 days every 12 weeks, to provide essential support and crisis management as needed.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across various disciplines, actively participating in Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to deliver holistic care and support.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Professional Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.

  • Experience: Substantial experience in adult social work, particularly in managing complex casework within a Learning Disability Service.

  • Expertise: Strong knowledge and practical experience in Care Act assessments, safeguarding processes, and mental capacity assessments.

  • Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Work Environment:

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, ideally with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Our office is centrally located, providing easy access to all that Central London has to offer.
