Social Worker / AMHP – Adult Mental Health

Derby City Council is seeking a Qualified Social Worker / Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join their Adult Mental Health Service. This is an opportunity to work within a service that places customers and carers at the heart of assessment and support planning, using preventative, strengths-based, and asset-based approaches.
You will work closely with partner agencies to provide a fully integrated approach to support delivery. Ideally, you will have experience working with adults experiencing severe mental ill health and within a multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake high-quality, person-centred assessments
- Apply preventative and strengths-based approaches to support planning
- Work collaboratively with health and social care professionals to deliver integrated care
- Carry out AMHP duties where applicable
- Support adults with severe mental ill health to achieve better outcomes
- Maintain accurate, timely, and comprehensive case records
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England
- AMHP qualification (preferred)
- Experience of working with adults with severe mental ill health
- Strong assessment, communication, and partnership working skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport (reasonable adjustments considered under the Equality Act 2010)
