Social Worker | Single Assessment Team | Hybrid Working (Tues & Thurs Office Days)

Leicester City Council is seeking experienced and driven Social Workers to join their Single Assessment Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a high-impact, front-door service where swift decision-making and high-quality assessments are vital to protecting children and supporting families effectively.

The role offers hybrid working, with office-based days on Tuesdays and Thursdays, allowing for flexibility while maintaining strong team collaboration and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete Child and Family Assessments in response to referrals

• Make timely, proportionate decisions based on risk and need

• Engage with children and families to gather direct input

• Liaise with partner agencies and attend strategy discussions

• Maintain accurate case records and contribute to team learning

Practice Model:
Leicester’s Single Assessment Team works at the critical point of access to services. The focus is on comprehensive assessments, effective multi-agency collaboration, and ensuring every child’s voice shapes outcomes.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

• At least 3 years’ experience in a Local Authority frontline children’s team

• Strong skills in assessment, communication, and multi-agency work

• Ability to meet deadlines and manage caseloads effectively

• Office attendance required on Tuesdays and Thursdays
