City of Doncaster Council is looking for a dedicated and resilient Social Worker to join their Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). If you're at least two years post-ASYE and want to make a real impact in children's lives, this is a fantastic opportunity to work at the frontline of early safeguarding intervention.

In this dynamic role, you’ll assess contacts and referrals, carry out threshold home visits, and work within a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team to make decisions that protect and support children at risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage contacts and referrals into children's services

  • Make informed threshold decisions in collaboration with partners

  • Undertake occasional home visits to assess risk and safety

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of assessments and decisions

  • Liaise with Police, Health, Education and other agencies within the MASH

  • Maintain a child-focused and strengths-based approach throughout

Practice Model:
Doncaster’s MASH is a high-functioning, fast-paced environment that promotes effective early safeguarding intervention through strong multi-agency collaboration. Social Workers in the team are supported by experienced managers and access to ongoing learning and supervision.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

  • At least 2 years’ post-ASYE experience in children’s social care

  • Knowledge of threshold decision-making and safeguarding frameworks

  • Ability to work quickly and effectively under pressure

  • Strong assessment and communication skills

  • Experience of working in or with multi-agency safeguarding teams
