Senior Practitioner | MASH Team (Children's) | Hybrid Working
Sandwell Council is seeking a skilled and experienced Children’s Senior Practitioner to join their fast-paced Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH). This is a vital frontline role in safeguarding children, working closely with partners to screen referrals, assess risk, and make timely, informed decisions.
You'll play a key role in coordinating responses to safeguarding concerns and guiding practitioners in complex decision-making within a multi-agency setting.
Key Responsibilities:

Screen and analyse referrals relating to children and families

Apply threshold criteria and make clear safeguarding decisions

Work closely with Police, Health, Education, and other partners
-
Support and guide junior staff within the MASH

Contribute to strategy meetings and multi-agency planning

Maintain accurate and timely case records
Practice Model:
This role requires strong safeguarding knowledge, excellent decision-making, and the ability to respond quickly and effectively. The team offers hybrid working, with a combination of office and remote work.
Essential Requirements:

Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England

Minimum 3 years’ post-qualified experience in permanent roles

Strong understanding of safeguarding thresholds and frameworks

Excellent multi-agency communication and risk analysis skills
