MASH Decision Maker – x2 Roles Available (1 Full-Time, 1 Part-Time)
MASH Service | Hybrid Working | Criminal Justice Centre, Northampton
Northampton Children’s Trust is seeking two experienced Social Workers to join their MASH Service as Decision Makers – one on a full-time basis and one part-time.
This vital front-door service helps determine the most appropriate level of support for families. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment alongside a supportive multi-agency team, ensuring referrals are handled effectively and children receive the right help at the right time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Triaging incoming referrals and identifying level of need
- Making MASH enquiries and liaising with parents and partner agencies
- Assessing thresholds for statutory involvement or early help
- Giving direction to MASH Officers (call handlers)
- Ensuring timely, accurate decisions based on risk and available information
About the Role:
- All office-based/static work – no home visits
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office per week)
- Based at the Criminal Justice Centre, Northampton
- Part-time and full-time positions available
What You’ll Need:
- Social Work England Registration
- Previous experience working in a MASH or frontline safeguarding setting
- Strong knowledge of child protection thresholds and decision making
- Excellent communication and multi-agency liaison skills
- Confidence working under pressure in a high-volume referral environment
