The Adult's Integrated Learning Disability Service (ILDS) in East London is expanding and seeking a dedicated Senior Social Work Practitioner for the Preparing for Adulthood Team. This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and experienced social work professional to provide leadership and support to a dynamic team while maintaining a reduced caseload.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Supervision: Provide high-quality line-management and supervision to social workers in the Preparing for Adulthood Team.
- Case Management: Maintain a reduced caseload, managing complex cases involving adults with learning disabilities transitioning into adulthood.
- Holistic Support: Ensure that adults and young people with learning disabilities receive comprehensive support and guidance for successful transitions.
- Legislation & Policy: Apply deep and comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and policy to all aspects of adult social care.
- Multi-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work within a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of social workers and allied NHS professionals to deliver holistic care.
- Outcome-Focused: Support the team in achieving good outcomes for service users during their transition process.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Extensive experience in adult social work, particularly within learning disability services.
- Supervision Skills: Proven experience supervising social work professionals.
- Legislative Knowledge: In-depth understanding of legislation and policy relevant to adult social care.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and leadership skills to engage effectively with a diverse team and service users.
- Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
