A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Worker to join the Assessment and Safeguarding Team within a local authority in North London. This is a key role where you will be responsible for assessing and safeguarding children and young people, ensuring that their welfare is promoted and protected.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of initial and core assessments.
- Safeguarding: Take immediate action to protect children at risk of harm, developing safety plans, and working closely with partner agencies to implement appropriate safeguarding measures.
- Case Management: Manage a varied caseload of children and families, ensuring that all cases are regularly reviewed and that interventions are effective and child-centred.
- Intervention: Provide direct support and intervention to children and families, offering practical guidance and advice to address issues and improve family functioning.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with professionals from health, education, and other sectors to ensure a coordinated response to the needs of children and families.
- Court Work: Prepare reports for court, attend court hearings, and give evidence as required, ensuring that all legal procedures are followed.
- Child Protection: Attend and contribute to child protection conferences and strategy meetings, ensuring that children’s needs are clearly represented and that decisions are made in their best interest.
- Recording and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring that reports are completed to a high standard and within statutory timescales.
