We are working with a leading local authority, our client in Buckinghamshire is looking for an experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their flourishing Children in Care team in Childrens Services.

They need a Qualified Social Worker that is ready to help vulnerable children and their families really succeed and affect change. There are lots of progression opportunities too, with regular panels in place for internal promotions. The Managers are there to help you achieve your goals as much as you are there to help them achieve theirs.

This role is a great chance to make a real and tangible impact on a child's life, with rewarding work that can be both challenging and incredibly gratifying. The Children in Care Social Worker will join a team of dedicated professionals, helping children and young people in care with emotional, behavioural, social and family issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing guidance and support to the child, their family and their carers in a professional and reliable manner.

Responsibilities:

  • To deliver targeted and specialist social work services for children and young people in need of support, protection and care
  • To always promote the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and champion their rights and entitlements to improve their life chances and overall outcomes
  • To establish a rapport and build a relationship with children and young people to ascertain their views, wishes and feelings and understand their lived experience through direct work with them
  • To work collaboratively in partnership with parents/carers and promote a strengths based, relationship-focused model of approach
  • To work together with relevant multi-disciplinary professionals from across the multi-agency partnership
  • To develop, as appropriate, relevant support, protection and care/pathway plans to meet the assessed needs and circumstances of children and young people
  • To work in consultation with relevant Managers to ensure that agreed plans are provided using available resources and ensure that all such requests represent value for money
  • To undertake all social work duties in accordance with appropriate legislation, policies, procedures and statutory guidance
  • To liaise with Legal Services as necessary and appropriate and represent the local authority in court as required
  • To monitor and review the impact of support, protection and care plans to ensure that these continues to meet children and young people’s assessed needs and circumstances and delivers improved  outcomes

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role, as well as knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to safeguarding vulnerable children and young people are essential.

You will need to have at least completed an ASYE in Childrens Services to be eligible for this post in Buckinghamshire for a Qualified Social Worker.

As well as an ASYE, you also need:
•  2+ years post qualifying experience
•    Social Work England Registration
•    Social Work Qualification
•    Right to Work in the UK
