About the Role:

The London Borough of Merton is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities Team within children's services. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children with disabilities and their families. If you have a strong background in working with children with disabilities and are committed to providing high-quality care and support, this position is perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children with disabilities and their families to identify needs and develop tailored care plans.
  • Provide direct support and intervention to children and their families, ensuring their well-being and safety.
  • Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including health, education, and other social care professionals, to deliver integrated services.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Advocate for the rights and needs of children with disabilities, ensuring their voices are heard in all decision-making processes.
  • Participate in regular supervision and professional development to maintain high standards of practice.

Requirements:

  • A recognised Social Work qualification (Degree/Diploma).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in children's services, particularly in working with children with disabilities.
  • Strong assessment, planning, and intervention skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and manage a complex caseload.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children with disabilities.
