Qualified Social Worker - Early Help (PART-TIME)

Role: Qualified Social Worker
Location: West Midlands
Team: Early Help Community Team
Pay: £35 per hour
Contract: Full-Time Contract
In the office: Hybrid

Elevate your social work career with a pivotal role in a distinguished local authority in the West of England, where your expertise will be instrumental in shaping the well-being of children at crucial intervention points. This esteemed council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join their Early Help team, offering a generous remuneration of £35 per hour for a part-time commitment of 0.6 FTE, equating to three days per week.

Imagine a position where your guidance is the cornerstone of ensuring children receive the highest quality support. Your role will primarily involve providing advice to practitioners concerned about child welfare, predominantly through telephone consultations and email correspondence, although occasional face-to-face interactions, such as TAF meetings, may occur. This is a chance to be the beacon of knowledge and support for those working directly with children in need.

The successful candidate will benefit from a robust support network, including managerial oversight and the collective wisdom of a team of senior social workers. The well-established duty system ensures a seamless operation, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional service without administrative burdens.

Flexibility is at the heart of this role. The local authority offers the option to choose your base office from several locations across the county, tailored to your preference. Moreover, once you are well-integrated into the team, there is the potential to transition to working from home, providing advice and guidance on the countywide duty line.

The ideal candidate will bring MASH experience, demonstrating a firm grasp of thresholds and triage processes, alongside a comprehensive understanding of both statutory and non-statutory services. A reflective and empathetic approach is essential, coupled with the ability to prioritise and make sound, defensible decisions swiftly. The duty line is a bustling environment, staffed daily by two dedicated social workers, ensuring a collaborative and supportive workspace.

For those ready to make a significant impact in the field of social work, while enjoying the balance of a part-time schedule, this role represents a significant step forward in your professional journey.
