Are you a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker looking for a meaningful role in children's services? Our client, the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, is seeking compassionate professionals to join their Kinship Team. Purpose of the Job: This role in the Permanency, Assessment, and Support Team involves undertaking comprehensive kinship assessments, including viability and full assessments. You will provide vital support to families in kinship arrangements both before and after the placement of a child. The role requires completing assessment reports for court and presenting cases to the Permanency Panel for the approval of kinship carers where applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and their kinship carers
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Providing ongoing support and intervention to kinship families
  • Collaborating with schools, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
  • Ensuring accurate and detailed case records
  • Advocating for the best interests and rights of children in kinship care
  • Participating in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current SWE registration
  • Experience in children's social work, particularly with kinship care
  • Strong assessment, planning, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
