Purpose of the Job: As a Qualified Social Worker in the Looked After Children and Children in Care Permanency Teams, you will manage a varied caseload, providing comprehensive assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of actions to support and promote the welfare of children in care. You will work closely with families, carers, and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes for children, facilitating their journey towards permanency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and their carers
  • Developing and implementing effective care plans tailored to individual needs
  • Providing ongoing support and intervention to looked after children and their carers
  • Collaborating with schools, healthcare professionals, and external agencies
  • Ensuring accurate and detailed case records
  • Advocating for the best interests and rights of children in care
  • Participating in team meetings, case discussions, and ongoing professional development
  • Facilitating and managing the permanency planning process for children in care

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with current SWE registration
  • Experience in children's social work, particularly with looked after children and permanency planning
  • Strong assessment, planning, and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
