Job Overview:
Are you a skilled and motivated Social Worker with a strong background in duty and assessment? We are seeking a dedicated Duty and Assessment Social Worker to join our team at a West Midlands Local Authority. This locum role offers a competitive hourly rate of £33.30 and operates on a 6-week duty cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initial Assessments: Conduct comprehensive initial assessments of children and families referred to the service.
- Risk Evaluation: Evaluate risks and needs, making informed decisions to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate intervention and support during crisis situations to safeguard children and support families.
- Case Management: Manage a dynamic caseload, ensuring timely follow-up and progression of cases.
- Multi-Agency Collaboration: Work closely with other professionals and agencies to ensure a coordinated and comprehensive response to referrals.
- Report Writing: Maintain accurate and detailed records, preparing reports for case conferences, court proceedings, and other relevant meetings.
- Safeguarding: Uphold and promote safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable children and families.
Requirements:
- Social Work England (SWE) registration is essential.
- Proven experience in duty and assessment roles within children's services.
- Strong assessment, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage a fast-paced and varied caseload effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with multi-agency partners.
