Qualified Social Worker – Learning Disability – South- East London

Role:  Qualified Social Worker  
Location:  South- East London
Team: Learning Disability
Pay:  up to £32 per hour
Contract: Full-Time Locum
In the office: Hybrid

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Adult Learning Disability team in South-East London. The team provides comprehensive care management and safeguarding support under the Care Act 2014 to individuals over the age of 18 who require community care services. This includes support for people with Learning Disabilities (LD), Autism, and unpaid carers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work according to the relevant legislation for individuals needing support and those over 18 with a Learning Disability.
  • Assess and review care and support needs for people in receipt of services.
  • Maintain excellent report writing and computer skills for meticulous record keeping.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, and partner agencies.
  • Conduct statutory annual reviews in a timely manner.
  • Undertake S.42 work, Mental Capacity Assessments (MCA), and Best Interest assessments as needed.
  • Maintain good working relationships within a multidisciplinary framework.
  • Ensure flexibility, commitment, and adherence to quality standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England 
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary framework.
  • Excellent negotiating skills and the ability to work effectively with partner agencies.
  • Full current driving licence and access to a means of transport for efficient travel within and outside the Borough for assessments and reviews.

Desirable Skills:

  • Ability to undertake Continuing Professional Development and appropriate training.
  • Proven record of working to high standards within social care.
