Pay: Up to £35 per hour

Manchester City Council is looking for a Qualified Social Worker to join their Court and Locality team. In this dynamic role, you will be working with children and families to ensure the highest standards of safeguarding and effective intervention in line with statutory requirements.

This service works with children and their families from 0-18 years who are subject to Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Care Proceedings, including Cared For Children processes. The social worker will be experienced in undertaking assessments of families, formulating and co-ordinating plans of intervention via a multi-agency team around the child/family. You will be experienced in child protection and court proceedings, ensuring the best outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

You will be required to undertake assessments, care planning, and court work, including attending hearings, preparing reports, and supporting children and families throughout the process. Your work will be pivotal in ensuring the wellbeing and protection of vulnerable children and young people within the Manchester area.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced social workers with strong experience in Court Proceedings and Locality Work, allowing you to enhance your expertise in a supportive and collaborative environment.

What You’ll Need:

  • Social Work England Registration

  • Social Work Qualification

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Children’s Services, including Court Proceedings and Locality Work

  • Excellent report writing and communication skills

  • Experience in Care Planning, Assessment, and Child Protection

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
