Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to become a valued member of our Duty and Assessment Team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and families referred to the Duty and Assessment Team.

  • Identify risks and support needs, developing appropriate action plans to safeguard children.

  • Collaborate with multi-agency partners to ensure effective support and interventions.

  • Maintain accurate case records and documentation in line with local authority policies and procedures.

  • Participate in team meetings, sharing best practices to improve service delivery.

  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience: A minimum of 12 months post-qualification experience in children’s social work, particularly in a Duty and Assessment setting.

  • Qualification: A degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.

  • Skills: Strong communication and analytical skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and stakeholders.

  • Caseload Management: Understanding of maintaining a manageable caseload and prioritizing competing demands.
