Coventry City Council is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Child Exploitation Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by protecting some of the most vulnerable young people in our community.

About the Role

As a Qualified Social Worker on the Child Exploitation Team, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and supporting children and young people at risk of exploitation. This challenging role requires expertise in safeguarding practices, exceptional interpersonal skills, and a commitment to promoting young people’s safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify risks of exploitation and abuse

  • Develop and implement intervention plans tailored to the needs of vulnerable children and young people

  • Work closely with multi-agency partners, including law enforcement, health services, and education providers

  • Provide ongoing support, advocacy, and guidance to children, young people, and their families

  • Attend and contribute to case conferences, strategy meetings, and court proceedings when required

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration

  • Proven experience in child protection, ideally with a focus on child exploitation or high-risk cases

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, child exploitation risks, and multi-agency collaboration

  • Excellent communication and case management skills

  • Resilience, compassion, and a commitment to child protection and welfare
